THIS IS A LARGE 1845 FAMILY BIBLE THAT WAS OWNED BY THE YOUNGS FAMILY IN
CENTRAL NEW YORK STATE (around Chenango County).

FOR YOUNGS FAMILY RESEARCHERS, THIS BIBLE CONTAINS FOUR PAGES OF HANDWRITTEN FAMILY RECORDS OF MARRIAGES, BIRTHS, AND DEATHS, PLUS A FULL PAGE OF NEWSPAPER CLIPPINGS, RELATING TO FAMILY MEMBERS, THAT ARE DATED FROM 1866 INTO THE 1880s.
THERE ALSO ARE SEVERAL PERSONAL ITEMS SUCH AS PRESSED LEAVES, PICTURE CUTOUTS, AND A HANDWRITTEN ITEM (undated) BY LIBBIE YOUNGS.

THE BIBLE IS COVERED IN LEATHER AND IS INTACT AND SOLID WITH BOTH COVERS WELL ATTACHED.
IT IS 9-1/2" X 11" IN SIZE AND IT CONTAINS 768 PAGES, INCLUDING THE OLD AND THE NEW TESTAMENTS, AND THE APOCRYPHA. THERE APPEAR TO BE NO LOOSE PAGES IN THIS BIBLE, AND THE PAGES ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.

Harriet Youngs Died December 29th 1891 Aged 84 years 3 months and 14 days

Martha L. Steward Died Jan 26th 1919 Aged 83 years & 8 Months

Brookfield, Aug 26, 1882; Mr. Editor: -My Papa takes your paper. I thought I would write to you. I go to church and Sunday school. I have a little sister eleven months old, her name is Vinnie. This is my first letter. I think this will be the first letter from Brookfield. Our pastor is Rev. J.O. Gifford and my teacher is Mrs. J.O. Gifford. Please print this . YOUNG. - Mrs. Harriet Young was born in Smyrna, N.Y., Sept. 16, 1807, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.C. Stewart, of Norwich, N.Y. Her maiden name was Reynolds. She was converted when young and joined the Methodist Episcopal church at Smyrna, of which she was a very useful, faithful and consistent member unto the day of her death. She was married in 1824 {error} to Wilson Young, who died about eight years ago. Four children were born unto them, one son and three daughters. The son died at the age of 26, one daughter at the age of 16. Two daughters remain - Mrs. W.M. Sabin, of Plymouth, N.Y., and Mrs. A.C. Stewart, of Norwich, N.Y. Sister Young and her husband were a happy Christian couple devoted to the interest of the Church. They conscientiously kept their vows. Her funeral services were held at the home of Mrs. A.C. Stewart, who had lovingly and tenderly cared for her the past four years. "H. Fox"
