March 26, 1907: LOIS PARKHURST died at Stockton, NY March 26, 1907. Miss Parkhurst had been an employee of the Empire State almost from its inception twenty years ago. Lois worked in the office all day March 16, came home as usual, was taken sick in the evening. Sunday morning called a Doctor Miller. Wednesday morning the 20th he wanted council. Sent for Dr. Rood. He said an operation was necesary. Sent for Dr. Moore of Fredonia. He came in the afternoon, had an operation. She was well cared for & was said to be doing nicely. On the 26th She was taken suddenly worse and died at 2:15 in the afternoon.
Sept 18, 1910: CAROLINE KAZER PARKHURST, oldest daughter of John and Lois L. Kazer was born at Union, Windham Co, Conn. Oct 4th 1836. At the age of 14 she came with her parents, brother and sister to Chaut. Co., NY. At the age of 18 she was converted under the ministry of B. C. Willoughby, was baptized by him & became a member of the First Baptist Church of Stockton. May 11th 1865 was united by marriage to Walker Parkhurst. Four children were born to them. Edward of ______, their oldest son survives her. Also one brother Frances J. Kazer of Lakewood, NY, one sister Mrs. Emogene Wheelock of Kennedy, NY.
